The right elbow has been cleaned and draped ready for surgery. The skin incision has been marked.
The skin incision is started.
The underlying tendon insertion is exposed.
The sheath over the tendon is divided lengthways and raised up.
The abnormal tendon tissue is removed and sent to the lab for analysis.
The elbow joint is opened up to ensure there is no elbow joint problem causing the symptoms.
The deep tissues are closed.
The skin is closed with a dissolvable suture.
The dressings are applied including a plaster of Paris support for 10-14 days.
