Ilana Langdon FRCS (Tr & Orth)
Ilana Langdon was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon at the Royal United Hospital, Bath and Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in January 2002. She trained at the University of Leicester and specialised with Higher Surgical Training in Orthopaedic Surgery on the Bristol and South West Rotation.
Her training also included the BSSH Hand Surgery Subspeciality Fellowship in Manchester and Wrightington, and an AO Fellowship in Hand Trauma Surgery at the Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, USA.
She obtained the FRCS in 1994 and the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 1999. Her research into biomechanics of the wrist led to the award of Master of Science in Orthopaedic Engineering in 2002. Miss Langdon is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the British Orthopaedic Association, and an Instructor and Course Director for Advanced Trauma Life Support. She has lectured nationally and internationally on biomechanics, orthopaedics and hand surgery.
