At rest i.e without bending the hand looks normal |
On bending fully the middle and ring finger extensor tendons slip to the ulnar side over the metacarpal head |
The skin has been opened and the tendons are seen to lie normally at rest |
With gradual bending the tendon remains normally (centrally) aligned |
With full flexion (bending) the middle and ring finger tendons slip to the side of the metacarpal head |
Part of the extensor tendon was looped around the radial intrinsic tendon. This stabilised the tendons to both fingers |
