Dupuytren's fasciectomy of ring and middle fingers

Dupuytren's contracture of the left ring finger (palmar disease) and middle finger

Skin incisions marked to minimise skin scarring

Initial fasciotomy in the palm allows good correction of the ring finger through slide lengthening of the band of fibrous tissue

Opening up the base of the ring finger to remove the residual band of fibrous tissue

Note the scissors identifying one of the important but small nerve to the finger. these need to be identified and protected

Middle finger opened further and band removed

Wounds closed leaving various holes in the skin to minimise swelling and help early mobility. The body will heal these wounds
